Insights from Our Interview With the Brains Behind @SellingtheSuburbs, Amanda Albrecht!

“77% of realtors are on social media doing video. If you are not, you are effectively losing your clientele to those that are.” This is just one of the amazing pieces of knowledge Amanda Albrecht dropped on us during our interview with her. If you haven’t started marketing yourself using social media yet, it’s time to get started. These three takeaways can help you gain confidence, stay consistent, and crush your excuses!

  1. Be a Creator, Not Just a Consumer: To stand out in the crowded social media landscape, shift your mindset from passive consumption to active content creation. If you think you don’t have the time to create content, all you need to do is stop the endless scrolling. Instead, spend your social media time responding to comments and messages from people who want to connect with you. Amanda dedicates just 1.5 hours per day to social media – she uses it wisely!

  1. Authenticity Wins: Don’t restrict yourself to just posting about real estate. Amanda uses socials to share recipes, DIY hacks, and educational content. Followers often discover her for her lifestyle content and THEN learn that she’s a realtor! And if you’re afraid you don’t have a fancy enough house to shoot content in, remember that by posting your truth, you’re going to attract clientele that want to work with YOU (though it doesn’t hurt to tidy up the kitchen a little bit, we’re not going to lie).

  1. Focus on Collaboration Instead of Competition: You may find that your followers are mostly realtors, especially as you’re getting started. Even though you may be trying to connect with potential clients over socials,  welcome realtors into your social media community! Start great conversations, build connections, share knowledge, and who knows? This may lead to referrals down the road!

With these three takeaways, you can unlock the potential of social media to grow your SOI and build trust with your audience. Creating engaging social media content is a journey. With practice, consistency, and a focus on building relationships, you'll see your online presence soar to new heights. So, give it a try, get creative, and watch your real estate business thrive in the digital age!
